PPC Management

Everyone uses their phone or computer to find the goods and services they’re looking for. It’s just commonplace these days. The weird ones are those that still open a phone book. Even the Yellowpages has moved online. When we search online, we use search engines so making sure our business shows up on those search engines is critical if we want people to find us online and become our customers. But, how do we do that?

Why Do Businesses Pay for PPC Ads?

It used to be the case that you could just create a website and the internet would take care of the rest. That stopped working when the number of websites shot up into the billions. Search engines had to get better at identifying good websites from bad websites, so they learned how to sort them based on value.

This sorting takes time and it’s done very carefully. The result for business owners and managers like us is that we can’t just create a website and pop up at the top of the list. Google makes us wait and sometimes even jump through hoops to be seen. That is, of course, unless we pay them.

Pay per click: How search engines like Google make their money

Search engines like Google have created another option for showing up at the top of the list. It’s called Google Ads. It allows us to bid on certain keywords so that our website will show up when people type them in.

We pay Google every time someone clicks on our website in the search results. As you can imagine, it can be pretty difficult to know what keywords to bid on, how much to bid, where to bid on them, and so on.
People spend their entire careers mastering this science. Well, sometimes it’s more of an art.

In order for Google Ads to work, you need to play the game correctly or risk wasting vast amounts of time and money. It’s easy to blow your entire bank account in an afternoon if you aren’t careful. For most businesses, it’s smart to hire someone like us to manage it for them.

How can I get started with PPC?

If you want to work with us, it all starts with an audit. For a reasonable price, we will comb through your digital footprint and determine the best way to move forward. If you decide to hire us to manage your PPC or perform other marketing services, the cost of the audit is deducted from your initial setup fee. If you are a current customer, you can skip the audit entirely as we already know what you have going on.

If you have tried PPC in the past, we will need access to your existing Google Ads account as well as access to any analytics tracking you have set up. The more data we have, the better the information and suggestions we can share with you.
Now, we don’t work with everyone so we have a short application for you to fill out. If we determine that you might get better service somewhere else, you will not be charged. This helps us utilize our time on companies we can help the most. We also don’t want to waste any of your time. Time is money!

How much should I spend on Google Ads?

The answer to this question depends on how much you can make on Google Ads. If you earn $100 per sale and it takes 10 inquiries to make a sale, then you can spend $10 per inquiry and break even. If your average sale is $150, now you are making a nice $50 profit per $100 of spend.

How the number work in your business will depend on well, your numbers. If you need help figuring this out, that’s something we can help you with. We can also look at your competitors and assess what they are doing to give you an idea of what might work well for you.

The bottom line is that PPC advertising is like a cash machine. You put money in and you get money out. As long as you are getting out more than you put in, it’s profitable. You’ll want to know exactly how profitable you need it to be in order to be worth the bother. Again, we can help you figure that out.

What if I’m already doing SEO or other types of marketing?

PPC advertising is a great addition to any marketing strategy. We always consider paying for clicks after we have made sure that the foundations are set up properly. This means that your business listings on the internet are set up to attract the right type of visitors and your website is 100% ready to turn those visitors into customers.

If you haven’t nailed it on the fundamentals, then you aren’t ready for PPC yet. Skipping this important step will yield subpar results and probably waste your time and money. Not sure if you have the fundamentals right? We offer a very affordable auditing service where we go in and check out what you have going on. We also look at your market and competitors in order to help you determine the best options for you.

Once you have the fundamentals in order, the other strategies, like PPC, all work together flawlessly. Google Ads works hand-in-hand with SEO or even as a standalone strategy. The trick is to know what you’re doing and properly track the results. If you can see what is happening, then you can do more of what works and less of what doesn’t work.
